Yesterday, I drove down to LA after the Super Happy Vlog House and met up with some fellow Drupalers. Drupal is a really cool CMS or community/content management system. It's also the center of a very active user community. We met a Phileppe's in LA and I got some great sandwitches and met up with some good friends and met lots of newbies. I gave a presentation of Ourmedia.

CCK Embedded Media Field - Playlist (Media RSS) Video Provider Test

Yet another provider, this one takes an media-RSS feed or playlist (sorry Lucas!) and looks for .flv files that it can use to build a flowplayer playlist. So, unlike the other providers, this takes a list of videos and plays them all (you can use the next and prev buttons on the FlowPlayer)

Note: i included an image up front so as to disable autoplay as per the FlowPlay instructions. Click to start the video (click twice in IE7?).

I'm testing the emfield module and finding a number of issues related to using blip.tv. I'm using http://apperceptions.blip.tv/file/180478/ as a test, but the same issues arise when using http://blip.tv/file/180478 as well. View source shows that the module is generating the following url:

I few server updates

  • Outgoing email is now set up.
  • Added http://groups.drupal.org/los-angeles feed to this site's news aggregator and added menu option.
  • Installed and setup poormanscron module.
  • Turned on and setup localization.
  • Changed message regarding "No content types available" to indicate that user must be signed in to use that feature.
