We have a SCALE booth!

in

Mike got us confirmed for a booth at SCALE. Now all we need to do is make it cool enough for Open Source techies to WANT to visit it. Let's begin at the L.A. Drupal meetup next Tuesday in Venice. All interested in helping out should definitely be there.

Several members have volunteered to man the booth, but we need some eye-catching examples of Drupal sites to show off. Although we will have Internet access, local versions will run much better.

A projector really helps draw attention to the booth. Also a 19"+ flatscreen monitor should face the aisle. That way we can have one demonstration going on the projector to draw in the crowd while the monitor is used for one-on-one conversations.

Boothes are 10'x10' with an 8' drapery at the back. Also supplied are a 6' table & 2 chairs, 500 watts of power, an ethernet cable, and shared WiFi. We will need a couple of power strips, a hub, 2 laptops (at a time), and a screen for the projector. Booth decorations: 'L.A. Drupal' banner, 'Raindrop Bandit' stickers & Drupal posters. Handouts: L.A. Drupal flyer, Drupal promotional paraphernalia, install CDs (Are there Live CDs for Drupal?), maybe a candy dish and, of course, business cards.

Go to http://socallinuxexpo.com to see agenda, exhibitors, and to register. ($10 for exhibits only or $35 (with promo code LULA) for full access to presentations.) This is a great place to make contacts in the Open Source community (including employers.)
